Based on the new era proposition of foreign language research to empower capacity building of international communication, the team is in pursuit of building a discourse system that integrates Chinese and foreign countries, places equal emphasis on theoretical research and practical exploration, leads students to show Chinese characteristics in the worldwide cultural landscape and tells Chinese story well to the outside world. This team provides Tongji wisdom for the building of international communication capacity.

Recently, the result of the Second Tongji University Excellence Graduate Student Guidance Team Evaluation has been announced, and the team of outward translation and international communication led by Professor Wu Yun, dean of the School of Foreign Languages, is awarded as the pacesetter of guidance teams.
