The National University Japanese Speech Contest aims to cultivate non‑Japanese‑major undergraduates’ comprehensive Japanese proficiency, enhance their awareness and competence in cross‑cultural communication, promote inter‑university exchanges, and elevate the overall standard of college Japanese education in China. The previous eight editions have received positive responses and strong support from universities nationwide, significantly advancing the teaching quality of college Japanese courses. Upon joint deliberation by the Japanese Sub‑committee of the National Advisory Committee for Foreign Language Teaching in Higher Education under the Ministry of Education and the Organizing Committee of the University Japanese Speech Contest, the 9th National University Japanese Speech Contest will be held in October 2026.
