On Tuesday the 13th March 2012 between 3pm and 5pm, Ms. YE Hong (The Doctoral Candidate of University of Malaya), the lecturer of Department of English, The School of Foreign Languages, Tongji University, conducted a seminar on ‘A Study of Lexical Collocation Errors among Chinese Learners of English’.

This is one of the campaigns launched by English Salon.  The attendants include the Dean of the School, Professor Dr. MA Qiuwu, the linguistic specialist Professor ZHANG Delu, some postgraduate students and others.  After the speech, two professors came out with many valuable suggestions regarding the potential problems.  The speaker replied to the audience with answers to these problems on the types of errors and sources of errors. The seminar triggered a heated discussion, where all participants shared a lot about the error analysis in the monolingual Chinese environment and some other academic problems.
