Center for Translating China for Global Communication
The Center for Translating China for International Communicationis an academic and translation community committed to the research and practice in transmitting Chinese culture and discourse across the world, responding to the government initiative to claim international discourse rights.On one hand, due to its effective teamwork oftranslation studies and interdisciplinary collaboration, the Center gives equal priorities over both theoretical and applied research into the theoretical framework and translation strategy for translating Chinese discourse outward. On the other hand, having engaged with the translation projects supported by a variety of government institutions, the Center develops and boasts a professional translation team engaged with translating into English, Deutsch, Japanese and French. Thus, it aims to construct and develop an integrated model of translation research, translation practice and education in the context of promoting a new liberal arts education in the New Era of China,enlisting the cooperation with colleagues both at home and abroad in line with the concept of innovation, integration and collaboration.The Center has undertaken 10 important translation research projects and 14 state-level translation projects supported by institutional translation funds and well-known international publishing houses, includingthe Chinese Fund for the Humanities and Social Sciences,the National Press and Publication Administration of the State Council, the Commercial Press, Routledge of the Taylor & Francis Group.
